LAKE DULUTI DAY TOUR

Lake duluti is a crater lake that is located in one of the subsidiary vents for mount Meru, in the outskirts of the city of Arusha - Tanzania. It gets its water mainly from rainfall and groundwater that seeps into it, keeping it filled throughout the year. The depth is yet to be confirmed, although estimates put it at 700 metres deep, with a length of 1 km and width of about 600 metres.

Itinerary

Drive 50-minutes from Moshi,  just a 20-minute drive away from Arusha, in the shadow of Mount Meru lays a crater lake. The Wameru tribe of the area named it Duluti. Lake Duluti is formed inside a volcanic crater and has water throughout the year, mainly from groundwater and seasonal rainfall. The crater is a subsidiary vent to Mount Meru (4566m) that towers over the lake.

The depth of the lake is unconfirmed, but locals estimate it at around 700m deep. The water from the lake is used in the surrounding areas and rumor has it that the city of Arusha was planning to utilize the water from the lake to supply the whole city.

Visiting the place itself is much more than rewarding, you will have one hour canoeing and you can either choose to have barbecue on board with drinks or take it easy and enjoy the ride, Also if walking is your vibe then the surrounding forest will give you all you need
